This typical little Pembrokeshire cottage had been cement-pointed externally and plastered internally with hard cement, causing it to be a very damp and unhealthy place to live in. TLC removed the cement from the exterior walls, pointed the more sheltered front elevation with lime mortar and protected the weather wall with a lime roughcast. All walls were then further protected with five coats of lime-wash. The health of both the owner and the cottage has since improved quite markedly. |
